The Daemonologist

In Hæth, strange daemons live in shadowy corners of the land. Taking the shape of fish or stranger forms yet, these spirits offer deals to travelers. They ask for arcane payments in return and, whether because of malicious intent or just alien sensibilities, these deals often rebound on the petitioner. As a Daemonlogist, you have read all you can find about daemons and listened to every strange story. You consider yourself forewarned and make deals with daemons to change  your fate. When this will catch up to you is anyone's guess.
